Summer
It is summer in the territory of the Coastal Shores Pack. Usually in this season, prey is plentiful, the territory is granted several days of rare sunshine and heat, and the wolves are managing well. However, it can also bring the threat of rejuvenated predators such as bears.
Weather
RAIN STORMHeavy drops of water are pouring all over the Coastal Shores territory. Black clouds and blinding rain keep most wolves in the den, waiting for it to stop.

Leon | The Old Lion
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I am Leon.
Male | 7 Years | Subordinate
Appearance
[center]Leon is a larger brute, built more for strength than for speed. He's broad shouldered and heavily maned, and walks like one with the weight of the world on his shoulders. His coat is coarse, and shades of brown along his back, head and shoulders, but creamy white in the belly, face, and tail. His eyes are a tired shade of yellow.
His coat is thick, making him look really fluffy. He's never liked comments about his fluffiness, and becomes very gruff with anyone who teases about it. Across his chest is a very large scar, just inches below where the vein in his throat pulses. It is not always visible under his coat, but when the wind catches him from the front it is quite apparent.
Personality
Leon is very reserved about his past and does not divulge much of who he is. Generally keeping quiet, he does not run or play like a younger wolf, and even seems a bit gruff. He tends to fall into a paternal role in a pack, and is seen as sort of a father figure by many. While always fairly well-liked, he tends to move from place to place and leave a pack shortly after establishing himself. However, he's growing older and seeking a place to settle down.
He knows a great number of old stories, and pups are drawn to this grandfatherly figure. He is very learned, with background knowledge in tracking, healing arts, and the customs of far-away wolves. However, he rarely shares unless consulted, considering unsolicited advice to be rude.
History
Leon was initiated into the warrior class of his parents' pack on his first birthday, becoming the youngest initiate in pack history. This was of little surprise to anyone, considering his talent, commitment, and no-nonsense sense of duty. He lived during a time of war between his pack and roving groups of vandals, a time when a talented warrior like himself was essential to survival.
He was assigned to escort the healers to gather herbs and assist the wounded. Although the young wolf was bored by their work, he soon befriended Yorah, a wolf about the same age as he. The bright and cheerful male seemed Leon's opposite, but the two were soon inseparable. They hunted together, explored together, and after the wars settled into a tense peace they denned together. Other wolves whispered about their unusual closeness, but neither Leon nor Yorah seemed bothered.
The two left the pack when they were in their third year with a group of companions as the pack grew too large to support. They lived happily, and as the others had litters and the pack grew, they were happy. But around the time of Leon's fourth birthday Yorah grew suddenly ill. He was prone to seizures and long bouts of weakness, and despite the best efforts of the pack to help him, he was dead in a matter of weeks.
Leon was devastated by the loss, and seemed impossible to console. Unable to fall back into the routine of his life, he quietly left the pack for a life on his own. He realized that even when surrounded by a great pack, he was incredibly alone.
He remained a rogue for several years, ranging and meeting new wolves, learning new things, and trying to find closure.Time heals all wounds, however, and now the sense of loss for Yorah has turned to a warm nostalgia. He still misses the laughter and playful antics of his companion, but he is ready for a new life.
He's too old to live alone, now, and seeks a pack where he can settle down and get a fresh start.
Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

Welcome to the pack, Leon!! I'm sure Randy will consider him a friend in an instant, like always. :3 Not so sure about how Leon will like my pup-ish boy, however.
